Bamboo lanterns.

The Zhushan factory produces bamboo veneer by lathe peeling. The waste from this process has been revalued in suspensions. First sanded to optimal translucency, they are then dyed in a vat of vegetable indigo. A small removable bamboo hoop is used to adjust the cords.

Voluntarily preserved, the original tears testify to the singular history of these lanterns.
